Bins and standalone gear live in the app all the time, not per trip. When you plan a trip, you build the packing list from your inventory, with quantities that match your last reset.
Meals planned, groceries listed
Plan each day's meals when you set up the trip, pulling from recipes you save once and reuse. The grocery list builds itself from the plan, so the store run before you leave is one pass.
A packing list built from your gear
Before you leave, your trip becomes a packing checklist drawn from the gear you own, grouped by bin. Check off each bin as you pack it, watch the packed count climb, and load the car knowing nothing is still on the garage shelf.
Log problems when you see them
Something breaks, something runs out, or you spot a gap in your kit. Log it as damaged, ran out, running low, or wishlist, and it is waiting in Follow-ups when you get home.
The reset checklist
When you wrap up a trip, Chickadee builds the reset list from what you brought: dry the tent, wash the cooler, reload the kitchen bin, restock what ran out. Mark which gear needs to be dried out and the app counts down the drying window and nudges you before mildew sets in.

Everything you flagged on the trip lands in Follow-ups: gear to repair, consumables to restock, and ideas on your wishlist. Each restock row shows what ran out and how many to buy, so the list doubles as your shopping run.
